How I work

From business problem to working system.

The process builds in six steps: discover, diagnose, design, prototype, implement and measure.

  1. Discover

    Understand the business problem, the users, the workflow and the constraints.

  2. Diagnose

    Map where time is being lost and decide what should actually change.

  3. Design

    Define the future process, the system and the user experience.

  4. Prototype

    Build enough of the solution to validate the direction.

  5. Implement

    Build or support implementation and integration.

  6. Measure

    Evaluate whether the process actually improved.

Sometimes the right answer is not AI. Saying so is part of the value.

Background

Career timeline: BSc (Hons.) Multimedia Software Development at MCAST from 2015 to 2018; MSc Artificial Intelligence at the University of Malta from 2022 to 2024; UX/UI Design Lead at Catena Media from May 2023 to July 2026; Research Officer at the University of Malta on ACCLAIMED from 2025; independent consultant from 2026.

  1. AI Product & Automation Consultant

    Independent · Malta · Remote

    Helping businesses identify repetitive operational work, redesign the workflow and build practical AI-enabled systems around it. Current work includes AI workflow automation, internal tools, product strategy, rapid prototyping and fractional product and AI support.

    Designed and implemented TDi, an AI-assisted tender intelligence system now used operationally by ACHV.

  2. UX/UI Design Lead

    Catena Media

    Product design leadership across Catena's digital products, alongside design systems, experimentation, product intelligence and AI workflow automation. Work included Esports.net and EsportsBets.com, where I introduced information architecture standards, mobile-first design patterns and live data widget systems. Designed and built an automated product-operations workflow, and worked with Legal and Marketing on the foundations of practical AI governance and internal AI adoption.

  3. Research Officer

    University of Malta · ACCLAIMED project

    Contributed to project foundations, research and technical documentation, UI/UX and workflow design, and selected software development on a human-in-the-loop AI education project.

How I think

The interface is one layer of a larger system.

My background sits across software, product design and artificial intelligence. That lets me work across the whole problem: understanding how a business operates, designing the experience and building the system with AI and software.

I start with how the work actually gets done, then decide what to change: the process, the product, the interface, or whether AI belongs in it at all.
